PEAKY FINDERS – REFUND POLICY

This Refund Policy applies to all bookings made with Peaky Finders. By making a booking, you agree to the terms below.

1. Cancellations by the Client

1.1 Day Events

  • More than 4 weeks before the event start date: Full refund, minus a £20 administration fee (a reasonable pre-estimate of administrative costs).
  • Less than 4 weeks before the event start date: No refund is normally offered.

1.2 Hiking Weekend Breaks

  • More than 57 days before departure: Loss of deposit only (25% of total booking cost).
  • 29–57 days before departure: 60% of total booking cost.
  • 0–28 days before departure: 100% of total booking cost.

Cancellation charges represent a genuine pre-estimate of the losses incurred by Peaky Finders.

 

2. Transfers and Credit Notes

  • Bookings may be transferred to another participant at any time, provided full contact details are given.
  • Up to 4 weeks prior to the event, bookings may be transferred to another date or converted into a credit note.
  • Within 4 weeks of the event, transfers are only permitted if a replacement participant can be found. Proof of the replacement may be required.

 

3. Cancellations by Peaky Finders

Peaky Finders may cancel or reschedule events due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, safety concerns, illness, or government restrictions.

Where this occurs, participants will be offered one of the following options:

  • Transfer to an alternative date for the same event;
  • Transfer to an alternative event of equivalent value;
  • A credit note valid for 12 months from the original event date.

If none of these options are reasonably suitable, a refund of monies paid may be requested, excluding any costs already incurred by Peaky Finders which cannot reasonably be recovered.

 

PEAKY FINDERS PARTICIPANT WAIVER & CONSENT FORM

All of our members must sign this waiver before joining any of our hikes.

1. Important Notice
Participation in activities organised by Peaky Finders, including hiking, climbing, or other outdoor exercises, involves inherent risks, including slips, falls, adverse weather, equipment failure, fatigue, or accidents that may result in injury, disability, or death. You should consult your doctor before participating. This document is a legally binding acknowledgment of these risks.

2. Participant Acknowledgement & Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that:

  • I am voluntarily participating in activities organised by Peaky Finders.
  • These activities may be physically and mentally demanding and may involve natural hazards and environmental risks.
  • I am responsible for my own safety and will take reasonable care of myself and others.
  • I will follow all instructions, safety rules, and guidance provided by Peaky Finders staff.

3. Health & Fitness Declaration
I confirm that:

  • I am in good physical and mental health and capable of participating safely.
  • I have disclosed any medical conditions, injuries, or medications that could affect my participation.
  • I have sought medical advice where appropriate.

4. Release of Liability (Limited by UK Law)
To the extent permitted by law:

  • I release Peaky Finders, its employees, contractors, agents, and representatives from any liability for loss, injury, or damage arising from participation, including negligence, unless caused by their gross negligence or willful misconduct.
  • I understand this release does not remove Peaky Finders’ liability for death or personal injury where the law prohibits it.

5. Equipment & Personal Responsibility

  • I accept responsibility for using equipment safely and as instructed.
  • I understand I may be required to wear safety gear (e.g., boots, helmets, harnesses) provided or recommended by Peaky Finders.
  • I am responsible for my own personal belongings.

 

 

6. COVID-19 & Communicable Diseases

  • I confirm I am not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or any contagious illness at the time of participation.
  • I agree to follow any public health guidance and Peaky Finders’ COVID-19 protocols.
  • I accept that participation carries some risk of exposure to communicable diseases.

7. Photography & Media Consent
I consent to Peaky Finders taking photographs or videos of me and using them for promotional, educational, or social media purposes in compliance with UK GDPR. I understand I will not receive payment for this.

8. Participants Under 18 (Minors)
For participants under 18:

  • A parent or legal guardian must read, understand, and sign this waiver.
  • The parent/guardian consents to the minor’s participation and acknowledges the risks.

9. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
